Trying to navigate around and referring to your cell phone for help and support can be a bit tricky. The same goes with choosing working with your audiovisual provider. That's why it is essential to partner with an AV company that can speak your language.
As you navigate through many of the different audio visual companies that can help support your next project, make sure one thing is clear; you speak the same language. Don't be afraid to ask questions or have your AV provider go over a technology you may not fully understand. Your job is to produce the best show for your clients and if your AV provider is throwing around those “Big Words” just to impress you...well I would think twice about using them. By no means am I here to bash other AV companies but, I have been around long enough to see many make this mistake. It’s really not their fault. The “techie” mind is just that, a technician. A technician is there to make sure the technology on your event is working perfectly. However, make sure your project manager and you are on the same page so, together, you can communicate effectively with your client.
You know that your AV provider should be on your side. Just make sure they can “turn off” the tech lingo and “turn on” the relationship building that you need to make sure your show is a success.
